A dead view or document is a snapshot of information, created by tools that lack proper collaboration features. It is doomed to be forgotten to some folder or buried in archives on a CDROM, where the time will quickly render the document useless.
Typical example is a document which is created by office tools. At best the document is stored to a network drive or send through a network of people by using email attachments (effectively making live commenting hard). Another example would be a graphical presentation of some data, such as a pie chart, attached to some document.
A dead view is the end, not a new start.
